We closed out another week on the farm. As usual, we were hard at work. We moved cows to fresh grass and the pigs to new woods. We are getting closer to getting the temporary coral built. Hopefully, I can get it close to finished tomorrow. We mounted the custom built wood splitter and the only thing left to do now is hook up the hydraulic lines and test the behemoth out. Nicki had a successful first week of milking Bessie while sharing with Dozer the calf. Dozer gets half the udder and Nicki gets the other half. It’s kind of comical to watch. Yesterday our little wether Chief went to a new home on a farm in Greensboro. Lastly, today we were blessed with a new calf. She came from a neighboring farm where the mom had twins and abandoned the little girl. After a couple of feedings she is figuring out how to drink from the bottle. She has a red coat and I believe we decided on Scarlett for her name.
